In 1959 he graduated from the Vaganova Academy. Nikita Dolgushin worked at the Kirov Theatre (now - the Mariinsky Theatre), where he performed leading roles in virtually all classical ballets - but at some point his interest in new choreography proved to be important to cooperate with the famous troupe of the USSR and the world, skeptical refers to artistic experimentation. In the 1961-66 biennium. - The leading dancer of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet, which has successfully developed a musical and choreographic works of the XX century, has collaborated with Peter Gusev, Yuri Grigorovich, and other prominent artists.
In 1966-68 he worked in the classical ensemble "Young Ballet" (hands. IA Moiseev). Since 1968 - at the Leningrad Maly Theatre.
In 1971 he staged the ballet Romeo and Juliet, in which he sang the role of Romeo.
From 1983 to 2001. Nikita Dolgushin headed the Department of Choreography of the St. Petersburg Conservatory. Rimsky-Korsakov (professor). In 1990 he was artistic director of the Theatre of Opera and Ballet of the St. Petersburg Conservatory. During this period, among other students, he held teaching Tatiana Stepanova.
Over the past few years he worked at the Mikhailovsky Theatre, where a tutor soloists.
In 2007, the choreographer made the new version of the ballet "Giselle", implemented at the Mikhailovsky Theatre.
NA Dolgushin died June 10, 2012 after a serious illness. The funeral will be held June 14 at the Smolensk cemetery.
